JustSubtitles Is A Search Engine — We Host Nothing

JustSubtitles operates as a text-based search engine and information location tool under DMCA Section 512(d). We index publicly available subtitle metadata (.srt/.vtt files) found on third-party sources across the internet. We do not host, store, upload, or distribute any subtitle files or copyrighted content on our servers.

Like Google or Bing, we provide search results that point to content hosted elsewhere. We have no control over the actual subtitle files and cannot verify the copyright status of every indexed result. We act expeditiously to remove links when properly notified of infringement.

Send a DMCA Takedown Notice

Email legal notices to our designated agent at [email protected]. For fastest processing, include:

• Your full legal name and contact information (email + phone).
• Identification of the copyrighted work (movie title, year, studio).
• The exact JustSubtitles URL(s) you want removed (e.g., https://www.justsubtitles.com/movie/st123/movie-name-2024-subtitles).
• Statement: "I have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
• Statement: "I swear under penalty of perjury that the information in this notice is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf."
• Your physical or electronic signature.

What We Do When We Receive a Valid Notice

Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA notice, we:

• Remove the reported URL(s) from our search index within 24 hours.
• Block the specific movie from appearing in future search results.
• Notify the complainant once removal is complete.

We comply with all valid DMCA takedown requests and maintain records of processed notices.

Counter-Notification (If You Believe Your Content Was Removed By Mistake)

If you believe your subtitle file was wrongly removed, you may file a counter-notification with:

• Identification of the removed material and its previous URL.
• Statement under penalty of perjury that removal was a mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address, phone number, and consent to jurisdiction of federal court.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We will restore the content within 10-14 business days unless the complainant files a court action.

Repeat Infringers

We terminate accounts of users who repeatedly upload or request infringing content.

Important Notes

• We only index subtitle text files — never video content, movies, or TV shows.
• We cannot remove content from the original hosting sites. You must contact those sites directly.
• Incomplete or invalid notices cannot be processed.
• False DMCA claims may result in legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
